THE WONDERS OF NATURE
Behold mother nature’s wonders,
A new born,
Opening her eyes to nature’s wonders,
Singing early birds midwife her birth.
Daybreak!
Behold! Behold the wonder!
Crowning a night of wandering,
The sun,
A golden orb from the eastern horizon emerges,
Its rays bathe the cherub days face.
Rejuvenated, sparkling, the new day brightens,
A fresh day.
Noon, the sun is overhead,
Searing heat,
The day’s a furnace,
Skinny-dipping in the rivers our refuge
But for a short-lived solace,
All grinds to a stop,
Siesta!
Behold, dusk creeping in,
Silently, deliberately
Like a Masai Mara lion stalking prey.
The queen of the night,
The moon,
Flashes her crescent smile,
The night stars, her subjects,
Twinkle in adoration,
Behold mother nature’s wonders!
As the night clocks in for his shift,
The drowsy, exhausted day crawls home,
The wandering sun wanders on,
The crescent moon smiles
The stars twinkle,
And time matches on,
A conquering soldier-
Time matches on.
